Since opening in 1980, The Coach House Concert Hall in San Juan Capistrano has been South Orange County's go-to spot for intimate live music paired with a satisfying dinner experience.
The venue's intimate 480-seat layout, long communal tables right up to the stage, no seat farther than about 40 feet away, makes every show feel personal and electric, like you're in the front row no matter where you sit.
Johnny Cash & Ray Charles
Johnny Cash performed here (including memorable shows in the early '90s with June Carter Cash)...
So did Ray Charles, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Tom Jones, Pat Benatar, Norah Jones, Miles Davis, Jerry Seinfeld, Debbie Reynolds, Willie Nelson, Chris Isaak, Tori Amos, Al Green, Michael Bublé, Jewel, Boy George, Etta James, Peter Frampton, and many more.

From blues icons to comedy greats and rock staples, the Coach House has hosted an incredible range of talent in its intimate space.
The walls tell the story: hundreds of framed, autographed photos from past performers cover nearly every inch, creating a living museum of music legends who've graced this stage.
The Dinner-and-Show Vibe
Dinner service is timed perfectly, everything arrives before the lights dim, so there's no interruption once the performance starts. The menu is straightforward and crowd-pleasing:
A $20 minimum food spend per person for dinner reservations keeps the focus on the full experience: great food enhancing the music without distracting from it.
Owner Gary Folgner, now 85, is still deeply involved, he personally greets every band that plays, ensuring the hospitality that keeps artists returning and fans loyal.

How to get the best deal
The Coach House is THE most affordable venue we know of, you can get in for about. If you want the very best price, go to the venue and buy your tickets there to avoid the service fees. They are open every day of the week during normal business hours. You’ll save about $9 per ticket.
Another thing, if you reserve for dinner/drinks you will get closer seating. Note that you only have to spend $20 to get this. Oddly, when you order your ticket on the website it doesn’t ask you if you want to eat. So, you have to call them.
So you can either call them and book both your ticket and reserve for dinner OR reserve online then call later. If you’re close to San Juan Capistrano, stop by and order, save some money and reserve dinner.
