Why should trying new things be just for kids?
Try Something New…
I was recently inspired when a friend told me her dad, who’d spent decades as a dentist, retired at 70 and took up tap dancing! He’d never done it before, just thought it looked fun. Now he performs around OC with the Snappy Tappers. How cool is that?
Why should kids be the only ones who get to try something new? Now that summer’s here, maybe it's your turn.

🌊 Below The Surface

Shaw’s Cove, Laguna Beach
Now that Summer’s unofficially here and the water’s warming up, it’s the perfect time to discover Shaw’s Cove in Laguna Beach.
Tucked at the base of Fairview Street, this quiet beach is a favorite for swimmers, snorkelers, and scuba divers.
Beneath the surface, you’ll find kelp forests, rocky swim-throughs, and plenty of garibaldi fish. (check out this video of what it’s like).
It’s a fairly shallow area, so you don’t need to scuba dive to see the fish, swimming is just as good and a lot less hassle.
There’s a WhatsApp group locals use to coordinate swim times - if you’d like to be added, just reply to this email and I’ll pass along your info.
Park on Cliff Drive and follow the trail of wetsuits down the stairs - you’re in for something special. Details

About Us: Lorna’s lived in France, Spain, and New Zealand but swears South OC has the best weather anywhere—and she loves Mission Viejo for its lake, master swim club, and tree-lined streets. Jason’s originally from England, spent years in Singapore and Portugal, and now happily gardens year-round in SoCal sunshine.
We started The Scene because there’s so much to see, do, and savor. Thanks for letting us be a small part of your weekend.
